HI! I'm Hailey Milica Lewicki
I am an undergraduate student at Dalhousie University pursuing a BSc in Ocean Sciences alongside a Certificate in Geographic Information Science (GIS). My work sits at the intersection of environmental systems, spatial analysis, and visual media- exploring how we use mapping, cartography, and design to understand and communicate the relationships between people and their environments.
Through my work with Environment and Climate Change Canada and the Beaverhill Bird Observatory, I’ve gained hands-on experience in environmental monitoring, field survey techniques, and scientific research- including first-author peer-reviewed publication. My technical toolkit spans Python, Google Earth Engine, and advanced geospatial data processing, bridging hard science with spatial visualisation.
Alongside science, I have always been a maker. My creative work spans physical construction, drawing, painting, photography, and leatherwork. I love moving fluidly between analytical and creative ways of thinking, particularly in the spaces where the two overlap. Whether I am analysing geospatial data or building structures from the ground up, I am driven by a curiosity for how things get put together, how spaces function, and how we shape the environments we inhabit.
